Alexis Vamvakas is active as a startup investor and advisor, particularly interested in deep tech projects. He started his career as a researcher at CERN, where he was exposed to cutting edge science, before venturing out on a medical device startup in the ophthalmology space. He later worked as Head of Venture Investments for an asset management group. He acts as a Director for Positrigo, a compact PET scanner spin-off from ETH Zurich. He holds mechanical engineer degrees from NTU Athens and Imperial College London.
