
Business Development & Innovation Manager
Apostolos is a driven by excellence professional with more than 9 years of experience in innovation support and technology transfer in executive roles. He has in-depth experience in his field of expertise, honed through consulting to clients in academia, research and technology centres (RTOs), business incubators, individual entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large companies. He has led various teams offering advanced services, being responsible for strategy, business development, team skills development, capacity building and coordination of activities. He is challenged by developing new business activities, team building and networking. He has an extensive network in Greece and all over Europe with professionals of diverse skills and experiences and is leveraging his connections to bring people together and liaise in matchmaking. He is a confident public speaker and trainer, sharing his accumulated experience in various subjects with audiences in Greece and abroad and able to write clearly and coherently. A competent fundraiser, he has been actively involved in the attraction of over €50Μ (FP7, Horizon 2020, CIP, COSME, SMP, DEP, NSRF-ΕΣΠΑ, HFRΙ-ΕΛΙΔΕΚ, private sources) for projects involving SMEs, RTOS, Universities and public agencies in Greece and the EU in his field of expertise, with more than a quarter of the above for his employer. Apostolos holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Durham, UK, where he studied black holes in string theory. He also studied themes in cosmology and multi-dimensional gravity, before deciding a radical career change towards more applied and impactful activities.
