Nikos Petrellis

Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Peloponnese

Nikos Petrellis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Peloponnese. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras in 1994 and obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Tech. in Computing in 1999 from the same university with a focus on Function Sharing and Co-simulation in Embedded Systems. He was an Associate Professor in a full-time position at the General Department of the University of Thessaly and was an Associate Professor in a full-time position at the IT Engineering Department of the TEI of Thessaly until January 2019. In this department, he began teaching as an Assistant Professor from September 2010 and served as department chair (Sep. 2018-Jan. 2019), coordinator of the respective study program (Feb. 2019-Sept. 2019) and director of the Computer Engineering Department (2016-2018).

He has worked at Analogies SA (2007-2010), Atmel Hellas SA, GiGA A/S (Intel Corporation) and Knowledge AE from 1994 to 2003 while serving as a permanent teacher of secondary education from 2003 to 2010. He taught Embedded Systems at TEI of Messolonghi from 2006 to 2010 as a scientific associate and from 2003 to 2010 he has taught in the department of Mech. Computer & Informatics of the Univ. of Patras according to PD407/80. He has published more than 100 articles in international research journals, conferences and peer-reviewed books while he is the sole or main inventor in 9 Greek and international patents.
