Reducing Costs and Increasing the Quality of Health Services: The Contribution of Modern and Mature Machine Learning Solutions to Hospital Operations Improvement

The utilization of Machine Learning methods enables Health Service Organizations to significantly reduce the cost of their services while enhancing their quality for the benefit of patients, providing the opportunity to address more efficiently some of the industry’s significant challenges. One such challenge is patient readmissions, where the applications of these methods have demonstrated their value. Patient readmissions within a short timeframe after discharge are common and contribute to increased costs and reduced service quality. It was proved that up to one-third of these readmissions could be prevented. This presentation introduces and analyses contemporary and comprehensive Machine Learning solutions for effectively improving hospital operations.
